"As song as you think that you are of value to Him, He cannot choose you, because you have purposes of your own to serve." O. Chambers
Chambers further says that our "strength of character, knowledge, and experience" do not matter. God chooses the weak and lowly. We are not to have goals of our own. Jesus, who is only concerned of our well-being and is willing to be our friend will determine that for us.
I submitted a job application to another agency, with hopes that I could leave teaching - which is a fulfilling job, no doubt, but is oh-so-taxing. I want to have time to play and learn the piano. If I am to continue teaching, I'm required to get a graduate course, giving me less and less time to do what I love (piano). Lately, I've been living to the lesson that it aint about me - my goals and my aspirations that are apart from God is of no value. It honestly hurts me to think that God might actually like the idea that I am teaching. Er, I don't really have any business figuring out what He thinks because His ways are not my ways and His thoughts aint mine to decipher. Whatever it is, I must rest assure that it's all for the better :). That, I believe, is faith.
