Job 38: 22-23 Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail, which I reserve for times of trouble, for days of war and battle?

The story of Job is truly one that will make us see/learn more about our God. The questions God posed for Job are ones that will makes us think... really think how omnipotent He is. Its a story that teaches us about divine nature.

Truly, it shd be enough for us to know that God is good and God is great all the time. Whatever happens in this world has a reason. And whatever reason that maybe, we just have to trust God that its part of His plan.

So the next time we see hails and storms... the next time we get sick... the next time we lose our job... the next time we love and lost... think about God and His goodness. Then smile.

Nahum 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger and great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.

Our God is in the whirlwind and in the storm!

If we put this in the right perspective, its a very beautiful verse.

Remember how in one day and in one area there will be a really bad storm...and we question its presence? If we come back to that place the next time and ask: where is that terrible storm?! If the luscious grass can speak it would have said: part of it is in me. The beautiful, healthy, smiling flowers would have said: part of it is in me. The fruits in the trees would say: part of the storm has produced my plumpness.

It is the same thing with our God. He may allow us to experience some storms. But in the end, it is His way of making us grow to be more like Him. Lessons and blessings after the storm makes for a good harvest.

Thank you Lord for the storms in my life. I know that Kevin and gretel's lives will make me stronger. Thank you Father that i encounter these sitns when I am physically, spiritually, and mental able - that way, I can face them head strong. I look forward to the blooming flowers and plump fruit after these storms.

Malachi 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

Blessings that we will not have room enough for it.... Such great promise and reward! Nakakaexcite! Imagine, not having enough space for our blessings if we bring the whole tithe to God!

And the irony is, God is only asking 10% of our income! He is only asking for that much. I remember when I was in the US, i had to give 15% as tip or service fee. So I repeat, God is only asking 10%!

This also brings me to the point that sometimes we only ask or expect so little from God. We ask for a cup, when He owns the entire ocean! We ask for light when He holds the sun! We ask that He gives us the guy across the room when He is preparing someone perfect for us.

Yes Lord, teach me to have that faith where I will be willing to follow you up to my last centavo.

Psalm 106:12-15 Then they believed his promises and sang his praise. But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his counsel. In the desert they gave in to their craving; in the wasteland they put God to the test. So he gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease upon them.

What an inconsistent life! What poor faith - obeying God only when they experience miracles!

Come to think of it, I am like the Israelites in so many ways. I tend to fall in love with God when my circumstances are happy. I tend to share Him to people when ive experienced answered prayers. I put God to test with my poor behavior, esp with my lovelife.

Like the Israelites, I live this kind of up-and-down existence because my faith is sometimes dependent on my circumstances.

Im truly sorry Lord. Please forgive me for my inconsistencies. For not always being on fire with your love. For tending to cling to you when i am only problematic. Or praising you only when my sitn is okay. Forgive me God.

Ephesians 5:19-20 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Its truly challenging to be ALWAYS thanking our God for everything that happens in our life. And in these verses, the command is not only for our attitude to be thankful... but we have to sing and make music!

I know this can be truly difficult when we our partner had just left us, when we only have one peso in our pocket and the bills are coming, when our families are in turmoil or are suffering from health conditions, when we are unemployed, when we are feeling depressed.

But then again, we should always remember that there is a season for everything... God allows some rainfall to fall on us because He wants some flowers or His kids to bloom. And we have to admit that there are situations in our life that just happen because we have been hardheaded or we disobeyed God.

In addition, if we, His children complain in difficult times, then how different are we from non-believers then? Having the right attitude or the right perspective will make us shine.

I guess we should not also confuse this when we cry our hearts to our Lord? These are situations when we admit to God that we need His help or a helper. Its just a matter of surrenduring to God... and not actually complaining.

Truly, the christian life should be one of thanksgiving and praise.

So Father, I truly thank you for the sitn our family is facing with regards to Kevin and Gretel. It is in these times that I am thankful coz I have you... coz if i don't have You, i know i would have taken the wrong steps or let my emotions get the better of me. Thank you Father that I have You to depend. And I truly look forward to the happy ending of these stories.

Isaiah 30:18 Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!

Our Lord LONGS.. our Lord RISES...

I think this verse makes us see that we should not only understand the importance of waiting on God but also realize something even more wonderful - our Lord waits on us. He LONGS to be gracious to us. Imagine mo yun?

I am so blessed to know God. And that I am knowing him better each day. I am amazed at His characteristics. Of how humble He is... that despite the fact that He is our LORD, that He is the King of all kings, He will rise for us, that He longs for us.

Prayer request: right decision for my family, whether to bring my parents here or not and what to do with kevin.

Judges 6:39 Then Gideon said to God, “Do not be angry with me, but let me speak just once more: Let me test, I pray, just once more with the fleece; let it now be dry only on the fleece, but on all the ground let there be dew.”

We can be like Gideon in a lot of areas in our life: we tend to test God over and over again. It's as if we don't trust Him... or that we are not sure if the answer came from Him... when in fact we asked for the answer ourselves.

When have i been uncertain or unsure of my God? Soooooo many times. I guess i become like Gideon whenever i don't want the answer God gave me. Hahahaha. Or when i lack the faith that God is truly answering my prayer. I can clearly picture myself talking: Me? God is talking to me? God is answering my prayer? Me an unfaithful servant?!

But God do answers prayers. He gives us signs to prove that He is alive and loves us dearly.

God do grant me the faith to completely trust in Your word even when every other sign points the other way.

We must take every chance we can get to do good to others as it might be the only chance that we can get to plant something, a seed, that in time may bear fruit that could be returned to us in the form of a favor.

Do not withold good from those who deserve it when it is your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back later; I'll give it tomorrow." -when you have it with you. Proverbs 3:27-28

One great contribution to our joy is when we take our minds off ourselves and focus on blessing others. Let's ask God how we could become channels of blessings.

Hebrews 4:14-16 14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Who can be more compassionate than our God as He has experienced all kinds of temptations when He was here on earth? He surely will know how it is to deal with our problems coz He experienced them also. And as He remained sinless, He can prove to us that we can overcome our challenges.

Thus, with all confidence, we can come to Him and ask for mercy and grace because He is the most high priest and the most compassionate one.

Thank you God for your example.

2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him....

Ang ganda! What an exhilarating verse! Ito yung verse na basahin mo pa lang, busog ka na.

Truly, our God rewards people who are willing to be nothing so that Christ may be everything. He will protect, look after, embrace people who will go the extra mile for Him. People whose heart is spelled J-E-S-U-S.

God, let my heart be for You only. Let my heart be not found wanting when it comes to you. Let it be a heart whose only longing is to be with you.

Dropping the impossible in my life is one way for me to be able to walk with God. Jesus "never worked from His own standpoint but always from that of the Father"; hence, He will not fail nolr be discouraged. (Isa. 42:4) Similarly, if we allow the Holy Spirit to move within us, we can follow God's stride while training and disciplining ourselves until we can walk with Him.

We can stop analyzing things which seem monumental in our lives and let the Holy Spirit change the way we look at things - making the impossible possible.

1 John 5:4 For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world.

Ang galing ng powers natin when we have God. Daig natin transformers, spiderman, Bill Gates, and all the powers there may be, fiction or non-fiction.

And whatever hardships or temptation the world has to offer, we can overcome because we have God.

Up to now, it still amazes me how much God loves us and how much He offers to us. Its so beyond what we can imagine.... beyond our comprehension.

Im blessed kasi i am born of God. I wish my whole family will also know God.

Sometimes I wish I could kick high enough so my foot can get stuck in my mouth. I hate it when I talk so much, when my mouth gets ahead of me.

There are plenty of other things that need to be worked out in my life. If i let the Holy Spirit bear its fruit in me, I would be able to tackle these tactless attitudes, one day at a time.

"Be still and know that I am God." the Lord says.

Father God, may you silence rub-off on me so I could gain the same stillness. Thank you.

Genesis 22:16-18 God said to Abraham,"By myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son (Isaac), 17I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies, 18and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice."

Grabe ang reaction ni Abraham.. he was willing to give up Isaac, his only son, without any hesitation. And to think Isaac is his first born and Abraham got him at a very old age!

I may not have any kids BUT i think whatever is dearest to us/me here on earth is our Isaac. Like my dad can be my Isaac. I keep asking myself: will i have the same reaction as Abraham if God ask me to sacrifice my Dad? NO!

I still have to pray and learn how to have that kind of faith and trust. Still have a long, long, long way to go!

But i acknowledge how God will reward us if we do have that kind of faith. On the aspect, nakakaexcite mag grow. Truly, when we obey God's voice, whatever we hold most precious, he will multiply it thousands of times. Wow! imagine having 1,000 people around me like my dad? how cool is that?

Thank you God for the example of God.... and thank you all the more that you promise to bless us a hundredfold when we have faith like Abraham.

"You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing." Psalm 145:16

Our God who is full of love and compassion for us, our Sovereign Lord, knows the number of hair on our head. He have searched us and known us. Who else is better to know the desires of our hearts?

Since our hearts may be deceiving, it is important that we continually submit to the Lord. His perfect timing will work in us and eventually allow us to understand why sometimes it seems like we're stuck in the valley where even our good intentions seem to not make sense.

Let us learn to patiently wait on God.

Psalm 118:27... the LORD is God, and He has given us light; Bind the festival sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar

God, ang hirap naman ng ampalaya ko today.

Does this mean that we should strongly (represented by cords) bind whatever we offer or commit to you?

I am really not sure.

Someday I will go back to this verse and understand it more.

Still, thank you God coz this means my relationship with you is still growing... that there is still so much to know and learn. I am looking forward to the wisdom You will someday impart to me so that I will fully understand this verse.

(God thanks for my Mom! i reviewed my QT and last year, around september, i requested that my relationship with her be healed. and you answered it. )

I'm concerned with almost everything O.Chambers had written on his book and here's a topic, "Building on Atonement" that talks about the right kind of holiness. It warns us against holiness that is based on human holiness and not on the atonement of the Lord. It further says that our obedience must be through the belief in the atonement, the reconciliation through Jesus Christ. As this was still vague for me, I was thinking of emailing the elders and asking them about it, when lo and behold! When I flipped on the next page, by the grace of God, an utter truth was revealed: we obey to understand.

Oo nga naman. We were wishing to get to know God but how can he show himself to us when our lives don't tell Him that we can follow?

Heavenly Father, thank you for your great love that unceasingly forgives and guides us. Thank you for being our patient teacher. May your light shine upon our path to bring us closer to an understanding of you. Allow us to hear your voice that we can submit in obedience, keeping you and only you in mind. Amen.

Romans 4:17 ...God calls things that are not as thou they were.

There are things we thought to be impossible, beyond reality, can't be done. But these words are not part of God's vocabulary. What we think is impossible, what we think will not happen.... for God it can be done with just a flick of His finger. He parted the red sea, remember? He knows the number of our hair. He knew every thing that will happen before he died.

So why am I putting a limit to His power and love? Ang tigas ng ulo ko.

All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Ps 139:16

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will. In order that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be for the praise of his glory. Eph 1:11-12

God is our Sovereign Lord, he just is, it is His prerogative. And it is so amazing that we have a living Sovereign Lord whose very nature is to love us.

The understanding of God's sovereignty and love for us is what allows us to accept the things that wouldn't, couldn't, or didn't go according to our plan. But no matter how we complain and lash out, God will look at us with his kind eyes and will love us no matter what.

Isn't is great that we have God who knows what's best for us, who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will? Who's more concerned with our "heavenly peace" than our "earthly ease"?

Isaiah 49:2 ...He made me into a polished arrow.

In one story i read, one sea/beach is famous for two reasons: its gigantic and ever moving waves and for its beautiful pebbles. Scientists said that the pebbles were such because of the constant friction brought about by the waves.

I guess life is like that also. Trials and suffering may hurt us. But in the end, it is the reason why we develop our character. The more difficult the trial is the greater the potential for us to build spiritual muscles and moral fiber.

Right now, the situation of my brother is one big wave where i have to keep flapping my arms and legs to keep afloat. I admit its draining, its mind boggling, it tests my strength... but at the same time, i recognize that its also a time where i will learn to perfect my trust in God that He will tide me over.

Thanks for the polishing my God.

The attempts to be holy by us humans is difficult and at most, frustrating. Jesus Christ enabled Himself to live in us through the Holy Spirit and this allows us to be perfect as He is. Because through the Holy Spirit living in us we can become like Christ and His redemption is made available to us so we won't get frustrated for trying so hard. We just have to agree with the Holy Spirit living in us.

We must understand our need for redemption before we realize it in our lives.

2 Chronicles 20:12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.

I am so happy with my QT. You see, I had restless sleeps during the weekend due to my brother's sitn (kev's gf is giving birth and kev has not saved any money). I was soooo pressured. And i pity my parents, at their age, they be enjoying their life na lang and shd be past such problems.

So before i went to sleep sunday nyt, i prayed real hard. I asked God to give me an answer to my sitn. That id expect upon waking up on monday that i know what to do.

When i opened my QT book, 2 Chronicles 20:12 was given to me.

It made me think... In the midst of a problem, where is my focus? On the problem? On myself? Or on God?

God is telling me to focus on Him alone. I am powerless with Kev's sitn and I don't know what to do so God is telling me to depend on Him.

Things in my life may seem to be going all wrong or i have no control anymore BUT God knows my circumstances better than I do.

yes, God I should have set my eyes on you....

I must have deliberate acts of concentrating on Jesus and not allowing anything in between. Before I claim to be glorified and do things in God's power, I must have a knowledge of Him first. I must know Him.

There are plenty of things in this world which can bring us down but the only real thing is Jesus Christ.
